SYKSP Project - Pupil's page

1. A Personal Statement from a pupil at the Teaching and Reintegration Service in Sheffield.
"I have enjoyed doing the Gold Asdan Award. I have had a opportunity to undertake a wide range of activities and courses. I enjoyed working with others, both adults and children. I particularly enjoyed and gained a lot from coaching children at Ponds Forge and had a similar work experience at Underbank and Birley Golf Course. I also did a wide range of work at Amberley Garage. I feel my learning has improved in a variety of ways."
Future Plans
"I am going on after school to do an:
ASA Pool life guard
ASA Assistant Diving teacher and ASA Assistant Swimming teacher Award.
I am going to college to do City and Guilds in sport and recreation.
I would like to keep my career options open in sport"

2.A Personal Statement from a pupil at the Teaching and Reintegration Service in Sheffield.
"I am a very punctual, trustworthy and responsible sort of person. If people treat me in a friendly way I can get on with them. I enjoy mixing with other people.
The Asdan Key Skills Course has given me an opportunity to widen my knowledge in many different ways. I enjoyed the art space and it helped increase my confidence using different metals. I also had a chance to make things in Technology including windchimes and a decorative table.
I researched on Sierra Leone was a real eye opener made me appreciate some of the things we take for granted its been interesting working with others and looking at problems like homelessness and caring for the environment."
Future Plans
"I hope to be a plumber in the future."

3.A Personal Statement from a pupil at the Teaching and Reintegration Service in Sheffield.
"I get on with a lot of people both adults and people of my own age, I am responsible, friendly, polite and quite confident. I am also a Good Communicator. I have made many friends since ive been here and have been able to settle down and get on with my work. I enjoy working on my own and being given responsibility.
Throughout the Gold Asdan Award I have had the opportunity to do many different activities. In June 2001 I really enjoyed an outdoor Pursuits course. It gave me an opportunity to work with others, solve problems and improve my own learning. In January 2002 I attended an Army Residential Course, I really enjoyed this course and I am hoping to go back some time this year before I leave school. In my spare time I like to play football, listen to music, watch movies and TV. I also like to dance and sing. I baby sit two days a week for two children aged 10 and 4.
Ive also been on a work placement doing a Childcare course at Innovation centre on West Street. I was doing this course every Monday for 8 weeks. I was at a placement at Beech Hill Nursery working with children aged 1 and 3.
I was going to do a childcare course when I leave school but I changed my mind as I am now interested in hair and beauty and travel and tourism."
Future Plans
"I hope to get some good GCSE Grades when I leave school so that I can get an interesting and well-paid job."

Pupils at the TRS in Sheffield

"I am a student studying GNVQ Business and Finance at Brinsworth Comprehensive School. My Teacher is Mr Morgan who created the level three key skills log book. I am greatly interested in the key skills qualification and I am doing and collecting tasks for my key skills log book as part of my GNVQ Course.Mr Morgan is helping me to write something for your pupil page at the moment and he may take some photo's of our GNVQ class for the pupil page as we are all taking part in the key skills course. I have looked at the Key skills website and find this a very helpful and educational website. I am enjoying doing the key skills course and think it is great".Farheen Khan (year 10)

Pupil from Brinsworth Comprehensive

"I enjoy doing Youth Award and find the Key Skills learnt useful in other topics, subjects in school. Youth awards offer me the chance to do something other than school work. I've become more aware of the skills needed to achieve more success in the future." Chelsea Lindley from Handsworth Grange School - Sheffield
